Okay, let’s get into today’s topic. Today’s topic is beliefs determine our success. Here’s reality. Our beliefs, they influence our behavior. They influence our decisions, our actions, our thoughts, our attitudes, our capabilities, our abilities. Bottom line is, our beliefs influence everything we do, including everything we achieve, which in this case is our success.
You know, one of my favorite quotes from Henry Ford was, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right either way.” I want to say that again. “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right either way.” Think about it. Think about our thoughts and think about how they contribute to every thing we do. Whether we think we can or we think we can’t. If we think we can we go towards it with all of our fortitude, all of our stickability, all of our heart, our soul, our might. And if we think we can’t, we avoid it like the plague. If we think we can’t, we end up sabotaging ourselves and looking for excuses as to why we can or we don’t schedule it, or we don’t do it, or we avoid it.
Think about what happened during the Great Depression. So many people suffered from financial distress. Yet, the greatest number of millionaires emerged during this time of devastation in history. Why do you think that is? Because some people, most people bought into that financial climate, that financial devastation, while others adapted, adjusted, exercised flexibility, believed without a shadow of a doubt no matter what was going on in their environment, they would adapt, adjust, and shift. And they would find needs within their expertise and they would fill it.
Today’s current climate, due to the pandemic, due to Covid-19 is really no different than what happened during the Great Depression. Think about it. How many people have retracted backwards? How many people today are waiting until all of this ends, are waiting until we get to the other side of this pandemic? How many people do you know are already starting to possibly struggle, or maybe stopped taking the petal off the metal when they were pursuing their success?
